The MCP address is:
What is Round MCP?
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It allows compatible AI tools to securely connect to Round and retrieve financial context from your workspace.
Round’s MCP is currently read-only. This means your AI tool can access information from Round, but it cannot create, edit, approve, move, or send money.
You can use it to ask questions such as:
“What are our current balances across accounts?”
“Why did cash outflows spike last week?”
“Which invoices are overdue?”
“What transactions happened for this company last month?”
“Can you explain our latest Profit & Loss position?”
What can the Round MCP access?
Round MCP can help your AI tool understand your workspace and answer questions using the financial data available to your user account.
Workspace context
Round MCP can identify who is signed in and which companies they can access.
This means your AI tool can understand your Round workspace context before answering questions.
Financial accounts
Round MCP can retrieve balances and account data across:
Bank accounts
PSP accounts
Round savings
Money market funds
This gives your AI tool a fuller picture of your company’s available cash and treasury position.
Transactions and money movement
Round MCP can fetch company banking activity, allowing your AI tool to investigate:
Cash movement
Transaction history
Unusual activity
Inflows and outflows
Potential anomalies
This lets you ask transaction-level questions in natural language without exporting data or manually stitching reports together.
Xero operational data
For companies with Xero connected, Round MCP can retrieve Xero data including:
Accounts
Invoices
Bank transactions
This helps your AI tool answer questions using both Round and Xero context.
Financial insights
Round MCP can also access accounting-level financial data, including:
Profit & Loss
Balance Sheet data
This allows your AI tool to explain financial performance and position in a more useful way.
What can’t the MCP do?
Round MCP is read-only.
It cannot:
Move money
Create payments
Approve payments
Edit invoices
Update contacts
Change settings
Make changes in Xero
Take any action on your behalf
It is designed to help you understand your financial data, not change it.
